U.S. online retail categories with biggest search lift post-COVID-19 May 2020
As of May 2020, the online retail category with the year-over-year biggest search lift post-COVID-19 was the food, grocery, and cooking category. Between January 1 and March 13, food, grocery, and cooking content searches declined by four percent compared to the previous year. However, between March 14 and May 1, the category underwent a 53.8 percent y-o-y search volume lift. Additionally, the computers and consumer electronics category's search change went from 5 percent year-over-year growth pre-COVID to 41.4 percent y-o-y growth post-COVID.
