DALYs or disability adjusted life years is a metric used to quantify the overall disease burden which is the number of years that are lost as a result of ill-health, disability or premature death. Furthermore, in Andhra Pradesh, a medium SDI state recorded a DALY rate of 143. By contrast, the lowest DALY rate relative to depressive disorder was seen in Bihar, which is a low SDI state with 114.
