The average gross earnings for self-employed males in rural India was the highest during the months of April to June 2020 at about 9.2 thousand Indian rupees. Female self-employees earned lesser than males with a difference of more than five thousand Indian rupees during the measured time period. Furthermore, the gap in earnings between men and women was higher in urban areas.
