Popular wine online marketplaces in Italy in 2020, by consumer characteristics

A survey from June 2020 showed that about one in four Italians has bought wine online over the previous 12 months. Amazon proved to be the main marketplace for wine shopping, in particular for consumers between 18 and 34 years. Male respondents seemed to be more eager to purchase on Tannico, Italian wine marketplace acquired by the group Campari in 2020. Other smaller e-commerces of wine had to compete with the online channels of large retailers, as well as with the e-commerce of wine producers, chosen by similar percentages of consumers.
