Share of Italians interested in soccer in 2020, by age group
According to a survey from 2020, most soccer enthusiasts in Italy were aged 18 to 34 years. Data reveal that 17 percent of people within this age group claimed to watch matches or reading football news every day or almost every day. Moreover, the share of occasional fans was higher among people aged 55 years or older. One in four respondent within this age group was interested in football on a random basis. Eventually, 46 percent of interviewees aged between 45 and 54 years was not interested in this sport.
