Reasons behind online purchases of organic products in Italy in 2019
Why are Italian online consumers turning to organic products? A survey showed that provenience played a significant role: preferring and supporting national products, in fact, was a motivation for 63 percent of the respondents. Whether the good was produced inside the European Union played a minor, but still significant role, at 13 percent, while supporting products from third countries did not (two percent). The second reason overall was the perceived quality of organic products, with almost 60 percent of the respondents indicating this motivation. The cost of consumer goods had some saying as well, with 39 percent of the respondents choosing products on sale and 38 percent being attracted by cheaper prices.
