During a June 2020 survey, registered voters in the United States were asked, in their view, how important it was for presidential candidate Joe Biden to choose a running mate who is a person of color. The survey results show that 30 percent of respondents believed this feature to be very unimportant, while 11 percent thought it was important for Biden to choose a person of color for a running mate.
