Between January 2017 and May 2019, officials representing United States oil and gas companies accounted for one third of the meetings with U.S. Interior Department officials, out of the 679 meetings that were held during that period of time. The American Petroleum Institute (API) had the largest amount of meetings with Interior Department officials during that timeframe of any company or group, at 13 meetings. Tied for second was the National Ocean Industries Association and ConocoPhilips, with 11 meetings each.
