In 2023, 79 military and civilian personnel from Brazil were deployed to United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations abroad. This was a decrease in the number of Brazilian personnel sent to UN peacekeeping missions compared to the previous year. In contrast, Uruguay, the Latin American country with the largest staff assigned to UN peace operations, had over a thousand troops, police officers, experts and other staff members serving in UN peacekeeping missions around the world.
