Deutsche Bahn: energy consumption by source 2020
At over 61 percent, renewables boasted by far the largest share of energy type used by Deutsche Bahn in its power mix. The use of renewable energy by Deutsche Bahn increased in the 2020 financial year compared with the previous year, where the share of renewable energy was at approximately 60 percent. Black coal and natural gas both saw a reduction in 2020, going from 14 to 11.2 percent and from nine to 8.1 percent respectively.
