Sweden: asylum decisions 2023

In 2022, nearly 16,000 asylum application decisions were made at the first instance in Sweden, the Swedish Migration Agency. 8,000 of these were rejected that year, whereas 4,200 were granted. With the influx of migrants to Europe in 2015, the number of asylum applications in Sweden peaked that year.
