According to the survey among Chinese catering enterprises conducted in early 2020, about 32 percent of respondents reported a decrease of more than 80 percent of their food delivery orders. Meanwhile, more than 80 percent of the respondents said the commission fees paid to the food delivery platforms remained the same or increased during the coronavirus outbreak.

The survey was conducted among respondents from 26 major cities and provinces. Among all respondents:
74 percent were private-owned, 11 percent were state-owned or state-funded, 5 percent were foreign or Hongkong-Macau-Taiwan funded, 10 percent were owned by other investors.
About 44 percent were sit-down restaurants, about 27 percent were fast-food.
About 58 percent had an annual income scale of fewer than 100 million yuan, 13 percent between 100 million and 250 million yuan, 16 percent more than one billion yuan.
