In 2023, the most common residence permits in Sweden were related to labor migrants. Nearly 37,000 residence permits were granted to labor migrants that year. The highest number of migrant workers was employed in the educational sector. The second and third most common permits granted were based on family reunification and refugees, with 25,000 and 17,000 permits, respectively.
