Key figures of women's soccer in Italy 2019
In 2019, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) published a report focusing on women's soccer worldwide. According to the study, in Italy there were almost 26 thousand registered female footballers, most of whom were youth players (about 14 thousand). Moreover, Italy recorded 1,530 licensed referees. That was the highest number of female referees within the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
