According to a survey conducted from April to May 2021, the average number of outpatients at hospitals in Japan increased to around 11.5 thousand in March 2021 from about 10.8 thousand in the same period in the previous year. The number of outpatients was lowest in May 2020 after the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
