Casino visitation rates in the U.S. 2011-2024

During a 2024 survey, it was found that 41 percent of adults in the United States had visited casinos in the past 12 months. This represented an increase of eight percent from the previous year, and, based on partially complete figures reaching back to 2011, was an all-time high.

Participants were asked the following question: "Have you participated in any form of gambling at all during the past 12 months, whether at a casino or racetrack, at a sportsbook, a lottery location, at a bar, tavern, truck stop or any other non-casino location, or over the Internet?"

* This is the sample size for all respondents in 2024. The source also stated: "Note that survey waves prior to 2021 were conducted among smaller samples of 1,000 adults age 21+ (not necessarily registered voters)." Meanwhile, the sample size of casino visitors was 986.
