Rate of hepatitis B cases in Europe 2006-2022
In 2022, there were 4.55 cases of chronic hepatitis B per 100,000 people in the European Economic Area (EEA). A chronic case of hepatitis B is classed as an infection which lasts for six months or longer. When broken down by country, Hungary had the highest rate of chronic hepatitis B in the EEA in 2021 at 8.13 per 100,000.
