Rubella cases reported in Europe 2007-2024
In July 2024, there were 12 cases of rubella reported across the European Economic Area (EEA). Rubella is an infectious disease which, while also known as 'three day measles' and sharing some symptoms with measles is caused by a different virus, but the disease can be prevented by a childhood vaccination. In the EEA, there hasn't been more than 100 cases in a single month since June 2016, and cases have generally stayed fairly low since almost eight thousand cases were reported in March 2012.
