Excluding the top-three deals, around 15 percent of the total merger and acquisition (M&A) value in the global chemicals industry was attributable to paint and coatings subsector transactions in 2019. This was a considerable increase from the two percent of all chemicals industry transactions that paint and coatings mergers and acquisitions accounted for in 2018.
