Over 80 percent of Canadian survey respondents stated that they used extra hand sanitizer when grocery shopping due to the coronavirus pandemic in April 2020. A further 42 percent of respondents claimed to wipe down their groceries with disinfectant when they returned home as a precautionary measure.
