Belgium: online video in Flanders, by age 2019

Millennials from Belgium's Dutch-speaking region of Flanders made less use of online video sharing services such as YouTube in 2019 compared to the previous year. This was concluded based on survey results that looked into online activities from individuals in Belgium and its three regions: Dutch-speaking Flanders, French-language Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital Region (the city of Brussels with its surrounding villages). Penetration among 25-to-34-year-olds decreased by four percentage points between 2018 and 2019, whereas penetration stayed the same for 16-to-24-year-olds. Opposed to this, the use of online video sharing services increased significantly among older age groups with the largest increase found among those aged 45 to 54.

[To watch other online video material from video sharing services (e.g. YouTube)]. (In Belgian Dutch: "Voor welke van de volgende activiteiten gebruikte u tijdens de laatste drie maanden het internet om privéredenen?" [Kijken naar onlinevideomateriaal van diensten die videomateriaal delen (bv. YouTube)], in French: "Au cours de ces trois derniers mois, parmi les activités suivantes sur l’Internet, lesquelles avez-vous effectuées à des fins privées?" The source does not mention why no numbers were given for 2017. The survey did return that year, but the question was not asked. In 2018, the source resumed the question. Additionally, no numbers exist from before 2016.
