The majority of both men and women in the Brussels-Capital Region used YouTube or similar online video sharing services in 2019. This conclusion was drawn from survey results that looked into online activities from individuals in Belgium and its three regions: Dutch-speaking Flanders, French-language Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital Region (the city of Brussels with its surrounding villages). Whilst the user penetration rates among males and females did not change significantly in 2019 when compared to 2018, they were higher than in the rest of Belgium for both genders. Note, however, that the Brussels area is not the most populous of Belgium. As most users lived in Dutch-speaking Flanders, and the penetration was lower there, overall figures for the country of Belgium were lower than in Brussels.
