Belgium: online video in Wallonia, by gender 2019

YouTube and similar online video sharing services were used less in 2019 when compared to 2018 among women in Belgium's French-speaking region of Wallonia. This conclusion was drawn from survey results that looked into online activities from individuals in Belgium and its three regions: Dutch-speaking Flanders, French-language Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital Region (the city of Brussels with its surrounding villages). The source did not explain why the penetration rate among Walloon women decreased by two percent between 2018 and 2019. The development in Wallonia stands out, as use of these services increased among women in both Flanders and the Brussels-Capital Region. Figures for the Walloon males were in line with the rest of Belgium, as online video use was roughly the same in 2018.

[To watch other online video material from video sharing services (e.g. YouTube)]. (In Belgian Dutch: "Voor welke van de volgende activiteiten gebruikte u tijdens de laatste drie maanden het internet om privéredenen?" [Kijken naar onlinevideomateriaal van diensten die videomateriaal delen (bv. YouTube)], in French: "Au cours de ces trois derniers mois, parmi les activités suivantes sur l’Internet, lesquelles avez-vous effectuées à des fins privées?" The source does not mention why no numbers were given for 2017. The survey did return that year, but the question was not asked. In 2018, the source resumed the question. Additionally, no numbers exist from before 2016.
