U.S. consumers online spending expectations due to coronavirus pandemic April 2020
In an April 2020 survey conducted on consumers in the United States, 28 percent of respondents expected to digitally spend an additional 50.01 to 100.00 U.S. dollars on non-food products. In contrast, only 6 percent expected to spend more than $500.00 on extra online purchases. Increased online spending is a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic, in which social distancing and stay-home recommendations were put in place in the country.
