According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on panic buying after the coronavirus outbreak, 71 percent of female and 70 percent of male Malaysian respondents stated that they purchased items in bulk in supermarkets and hypermarkets. In the same survey, 77 percent of respondents indicated that they had not engaged in panic buying because of the coronavirus pandemic, while 23 percent of respondents did.
