In July 2024, there were over 18 thousand jeonse transactions of apartments between 60 and 85 square meters in South Korea, the most transactions among all apartment sizes. This was followed by apartments between 40 and 60 square meters with about 12 thousand transactions. Jeonse is a unique housing leasing system in South Korea. A large sum is paid to the landlord for the rental period, which usually lasts two years. The deposit is returned to the tenants at the end of the two-year contract.
