Year-on-year change of service industry revenue in Finland 2020-2022, by sector
Service industries in Finland have been severely impacted by the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). In January 2022, the working day adjusted revenue in service industries increased in all sectors compared to the previous year. Accommodation and food services were hit the worst, suffering nearly 70 percent revenue losses in April and May 2020 compared to the corresponding period of 2019. Additionally, arts, entertainment and recreation activities declined significantly, over 40 percent from April and May 2019. Some sectors, for example real estate activities, were not as hardly hit or still continued to grow.
