About 92 percent of the value of exports generated in Nigeria derives from mineral fuels, oils, and distillation products. In 2021, the export of such resources accounted for roughly 42 billion U.S. dollars. Nigeria is one of the main countries for oil reserves globally and the second one on the African continent. Moreover, the export of fertilizers ranked second, holding three percent of the total share.
