Covid-19 lockdown impact on independent brewers in the UK April 2020

In April 2020, small independent brewers in the United Kingdom (UK) were surveyed on an impact on their industry due to Covid-19 lockdown. Of polled small independent brewers, 82 percent stated they experienced a decrease in beer sales. Furthermore, 81 percent expressed a belief that the UK government had not been doing enough to support independent breweries. When considering brewing, 65 percent of surveyed breweries reported that had stopped brewing altogether and 31 percent stated production had slowed.
