The COVID-19 pandemic that spread across the world at the beginning of 2020 was not only a big threat to public health, but also to the entire youth and amateur sports industry. During a May 2020 survey in the United States, some 24 percent of respondents were strongly concerned about their children's youth sports programs going out of business due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
