The COVID-19 pandemic that spread across the world at the beginning of 2020 was not only a big threat to public health, but also to the entire youth and amateur sports industry. During a May 2020 survey in the United States, some 24 percent of respondents strongly agreed that it was less likely for them to enroll their children in youth sports in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
