According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on panic buying after the coronavirus outbreak, 100 percent of Vietnamese respondents aged 55 years and older felt safe after stockpiling on items. In the same survey, 61.57 percent of respondents indicated that they had not engaged in panic buying because of the coronavirus pandemic, while 38.43 percent of respondents did.

The survey was conducted among 578 female and 573 male respondents.
The survey was conducted among
345 respondents aged 16 to 24 years,
507 respondents aged 25 to 34 years,
225 respondents aged 35 to 44 years,
52 respondents aged 45 to 54 years and
22 respondents aged 55 years and older.
Other surveyed countries included China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan.
