Global distribution of chemical mergers and acquisitions by driver 2000-2019
In the first decade of the new millennium, most of the chemical industry mergers and acquisitions (M&A) that occurred were aimed at expanding a company's operations from emerging markets to developed markets. Between 2010 and 2019, this overall tendency remained stable, however other M&A drivers gained strength, such as diversifying the existent portfolio.
