The Women's Pole Vault is a relatively recent addition to the Summer Olympic Games, after it was introduced in 2000 (while the men's event has been included in all Olympics since 1896). Athletes from the United States have found the most success, with three golds and two silvers, while athletes from Russia have won six medals overall (including the silver won in 2020, when Russia was technically banned). The event's most successful athlete is Russia's Yelena Isinbayeva, who has two golds and one bronze medal to her name; due to Russia's ban from the 2016 Olympics, Isinbayeva was unable to compete that event, although she was the world leader in the sport that year.

This data was collected using the official Olympic.org site, as well as a spreadsheet from the Guardian that includes data from 1896-2008 (available here), 2012 and 2016 data was compared with that from Encyclopaedia Britannica, and several news outlets were used to update the table when medals were reassigned (i.e. for doping offenses).
