According to a survey on consumer behavior during coronavirus outbreak conducted by Rakuten Insight in April 2020, most of the surveyed Taiwanese consumers, around 62 percent, stocked up because of the fear that household items might run out in supermarkets and shops. About ten percent of the respondents said their panic buying behavior was under the influence of other shoppers.
