According to a survey on consumer behavior during coronavirus outbreak conducted by Rakuten Insight in April 2020, panic buying was not very common in Taiwan. About 17 percent of the Taiwanese respondents admitted that they had engaged in panic buying, stocking up mostly on dry food items, toilet paper and other hygiene paper products.
