Monthly revenue passenger kilometers of Azul Linhas Aéreas 2020-2021, by route type
In April 2020, the Brazilian low cost carrier Azul Linhas Aéreas recorded its lowest number of revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) in that year. In total, Azul only completed a little over 210 million RPKs, out of which 84 percent were done in domestic flights. From that month onwards, the demand for the airline's service recovered, reaching in June 2021 more than 1.7 billion RPKs. The strong decline in Azul's operations throughout 2020 is associated to the COVID-19 pandemic.
