In April 2020, 151 thousand passengers were transported by Grupo Aeroméxico to national and international destinations. This shows a drop of nearly 890 thousand passengers in comparison to the previous month. The severe slowdown in air traffic is related to the health emergency declared by the Mexican government at the end of March 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Since June of that year, the total passenger traffic of Mexico's flag carrier showed a recovery, surpassing 1.4 million passengers in June 2021.
