Number of gas stations in Mexico 2019-2023
As of November 2023, there were 13,600 fuel stations operating in Mexico, up from 12,600 stations in 2019. For decades, Pemex had a monopoly over fuel distribution in Mexico. In 2014, an energy reform allowed private fuel distribution companies to operate in the country. Accordingly, since 2017, the number of private stations in Mexico has increased consistently.
