During 2021, fuel sales in Peru saw a mostly increasing tendency despite some fluctuation. Nevertheless, sales of diesel and LPG as of December 2021 remained lower than in the same month of the previous year. Sales of gasoline, on the other hand, amounted to nearly 51 thousand barrels per day, the highest figure reported within the indicated period. Peru's largest drop in fuel sales took place between February and April 2020, as a result of the lockdown measures that were implemented in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
