In July 2021, the number of passengers in Russia's 33 largest airports was two percent lower than in the corresponding period of 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown measures, the airport passenger traffic in Russia's 33 largest airports in April 2020 was 91 percent lower than in the same month one year ago. While the domestic flight passenger traffic recovered gradually over the next months, international flights still suffered from a decline in passengers due to COVID-19-related restrictions.
