U.S. views on federal government bailing out oil industry by political belief 2020
As a result of the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus and the infectious disease COVID-19, the oil industry was among the sectors that were severely economically impacted. As of March 2020, 62 percent of the surveyed Republican voters agreed with the federal government providing financial support to aid this industry.
