Among companies that were inspected for labor standard violations regarding the employment of foreign technical intern trainees in Japan, approximately 73.3 percent were found to be guilty of violations in 2023. The number of inspected companies and the number of companies guilty of violations increased strongly since 2014. While some companies came under scrutiny due to past violations, others were inspected because of tip-offs from workers.
