According to a survey conducted by Ipsos, the consolidated economic national index for India for April 2020 was 56.2, a drastic decrease from the previous year. However, the global average for April 2020 was 44.4, indicating a more positive outlook of the economy among Indians.
The national index reflects the respondent perceptions of current and future local economy, financial situation, major purchase comfort, household purchase, job security, investment confidence, job loss experience, and job loss expectations within the country.
Consolidated economic national index for India from April 2019 to April 2020
The Global Consumer Confidence Index is the average of the National Index of 24 world markets surveyed monthly by Ipsos. The findings are based on data from Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI). The PCSI Index is normalized to a 0 to 100-point range with “50” representing the historical median economic conditions.
