In a survey on e-commerce users in Indonesia conducted in 2019, Jakarta had the highest distribution of e-commerce users in Indonesia at 58 percent. In comparison, e-commerce users in Surabaya were at five percent. The growth in Indonesia's digital economy has been attributed to higher internet and mobile penetration rates.
