A survey of Indonesian consumer behavior during Ramadan in 2020 found that 80 percent of the young millennial respondents were planning to spend more than a quarter of their Tunjangan Hari Raya (THR) holiday allowance. Young millennials were categorized as those between the ages of 25 to 34 years.

Tunjangan Hari Raya, or THR allowance, is a mandatory allowance for employees in Indonesia. The amount is that of one month's salary, and paid out one week before the employee's religious holiday.
The Islamic month of Ramadan follows the lunar cycle. In 2022 it falls on April 3 and ends on May 2. Eid al Fitr falls on May 3.
