In the first quarter of 2024, the insurance industry in France saw the highest value of investment in the European Union, followed by Germany and Italy. Investments include investment in property other than for own use, holdings in related undertakings, including participations, equities, bonds, collective investment undertakings, derivatives, deposits, cash investments and other investments. Many of the leading countries had a stronger life insurance segment. In France, for instance, life insurance company investments were twice the volume of non-life.
