The pharmacy website Asna.ru in Russia increased its spending on digital advertising by 111 percent in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The online pharmacy Apteka.ru saw an 83 percent growth in its online ad spend. The reasons behind it could be the COVID-19 outbreak in Russia as well as the law allowing online pharmacies to sell over-the-counter medication that entered into force on April 1, 2020.
