Colombia: number of suicide attempts 2021, by department
As of May 1, 2021, more than 8,600 suicide attempts had been registered in Colombia. The country's capital city, Bogotá, reported the largest share of cases, with 1,262 occurences. It was followed by the department of Antioquia, with 1,229 attempts. In 2019, more than 2.6 thousand suicides were reported in Colombia, the second highest figure in the decade.
