France: share of BEV sales in the total annual car sales 2011-2023
Year after year, the share of electric passenger cars has grown in the total number of passenger car registrations in France. This share rose by 0.1 percent in 2011 to some 16.7 percent in 2023. 2023 was the most profitable year for BEV sales in France, as the market share of this vehicle type grew to be over 15 percent for the first time across the recorded period.
